Dhaka: A police constable died after falling from the fifth floor of a building in city’s Mirpur area on Friday.

Shariful Islam, in his twenties, constable of Public Order Management (North division) in Mirpur Police Barrack, suddenly fell down from a veranda while talking over mobile phone in the morning, said duty officer of Kafrul Police Station, sub-inspector Hosna Afroz.

Later he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 9:30am, said Bacchu Mia,Sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp.
