A motorcyclist was killed and another sustained injuries in a road accident near Jagannath Hall of the Dhaka University on early Saturday.

The deceased is Shubra Biswas, 18, son of a nurse of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and a resident of Azimpur Government Staff Quarter in the city, reports the UNB.

The biker lost control over it and hit island of the road around 4:30am while he, along with his friend, was enjoying a marriage ceremony on the campus, leaving them injured, said Sub inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police camp.

Later, the injured were taken to DMCH where Shubra succumbed to his injuries.

Another injured Imran, 18, was taken to Bogra Medical College Hospital by family members, he added.

Both the youths passed the HSC examination this year, he added.
