Pabna: Three passengers of auto-rickshaw were killed and six students injured in a road accident in Betil Bazar area of Enayetpur in Sirajganj on Sunday.

Among the deceased, two are Mohammad Ali, about 32 years old, from Ajupara village of Enayetpur thana and Abdul Baten, about 30 years old, from Gufrekhi village of the same thana.

Sirajganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Miraz Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter and said the accident took place at about 12:30pm in Betil Bazar area of Sirajganj.

Enayetpur police Officer-in-Charge (OC) said the accident occurred in the area when an Imran Enterprise bus from Enayetpur rammed the battery-run auto-rickshaw leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot and another died on the way to hospital.

The injured were taken to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital for treatment, Miraz Uddin added.

Centring the accident, agitated local people blocked the Sirajganj- Enayetpur road causing long tailback.
