Benapole: A local journalist was killed as a utility vehicle collided with his motorcycle at Navaran Bazar on Benapole-Jessore Road in Jhikargachha upazila of Benapole on Sunday night, reports United News of Bangaldesh.

The deceased I s Arifur Rahman, 40, Jessore bureau chief of national daily ‘Bajrashakti’ and son of Aiyub Ali Biswas, a resident of Beri Narayanpur village in Benapole.

He used to live with his in-laws in Shangkarpur area of the district town.

Police said the accident took place when the utility vehicle hit Arifur while he was riding a motorbike on his way to Navaran from Jessore town at night, leaving him injured.

Arifur was taken to Navaran Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
