Car-human hauler collision leaves 2 dead

Two people were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a human hauler on Motel road of Cox’s Bazar town on Saturday morning.

Deceased’s friend Mohammad Ali said a private car collided head-on with the human hauler carrying them in front of Hotel Shaibal on Motel road around 8:30 am, leaving two human hauler passengers dead on the spot and six others, including driver of the human hauler, injured, reports the UNB.

The deceased were identified as Shah Alam, 50, son of Ahmad Mia of Charpatharghata in Patia in Chittagong and Abdus Salam, son of Mona Miah in Kusumpura area of Patia.

The injured were taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital while bodies of the two deceased were kept at morgue, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Sodar Model Police Station.

Four of the injured are Jahangir Alam, 40, hailing from Karnafully thana of Chittagong, Harunur Rashid, 30, Helal Uddin, 37, of the same area and human hauler driver Alamgir, 35.
