Sirajganj: Two people were killed in a road accident at Naimuri on the Hatikumrul-Banpara Highway in Salanga upazila early on Tuesday, reports local news agency.

The deceased are Riaz Uddin, and Jahidul Islam, both residents of Naimuri village of the upazila.

Witnesses said an onion-laden truck turned turtle as dense fog caused poor visibility in the area at about 4:00am.

Later, a fish-laden pickup van knocked the duo while they were gathering onions from the highway, leaving them dead on the spot.

Hatikumrul Highway police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
