Fire at Dhaka’s Anam Rangs Plaza

Dhaka: Shopping mall Anam Rangs Plaza in capital Dhaka's Dhanmondi area caught fire on Sunday afternoon.
The fire originated on the fourth floor of the six-storey shopping mall at about 4:00pm, said sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
On information, 17 units of firefighters rushed in and brought the blaze under control after two hours of frantic efforts at 6:40 pm.
Meanwhile, the Fire Service formed a three-member committee to investigate the fire.
The committed with Deputy Director (Admin) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury as its chief was asked to submit its report within the next seven working days, said Duty Officer at is control room Mizanur Rahman.
Two other members of the committee are Assistant Director Mamun Mahmud and Senior Station Officer of Mohammadpur Fire Station Abu Bakar Jaman, he said.
