Pabna: Five people were killed and at least ten others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Chinakhara area of Santhia upazila of Pabna on Tuesday morning.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Anwar Hossain, in-charge of Mathpur highway police outpost, said that the accident took place around 10:30am when the Dhaka-bound ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ bus collided with ‘Saddam Paribahan’ bus in the area, leaving five dead on the spot and ten others injured.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sujanagar police station said the accident occurred in the area around 10:30am when a Dhaka-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan hit another bus coming from the opposite direction, leaving five people dead on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Pabna General Hospital, the OC said.
