Chittagong: Three workers were died from electrocution and another was injured in separate places of Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong on Wednesday morning.

The deceased are Mohammad Shimul, Mohammad Shaheed, and Dulu Mia, residents of Kalai upazila of Jaypurhat.

Shilbrata Barua, assistant sub inspector (ASI) at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) said three construction workers were electrocuted while they were working at under-construction market in Boro Kumira area around 9:30am.

At one stage of working, an iron rod came in contact with 33,000 voltage power supply line, leaving the trio injured, he added.

Of the injured, one succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital while another died at CMCH.

Injured Fahim was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

On the other hand, Sohel Rana, sub-inspector of Sitakunda Police Station, said Dulu Mia, an agri labour, came in contact with electric fence while working in the field in Nuner Chhara area of Sitakunda municipality at 7:00am.
