2 killed in electric transformer blast

Two people were killed as a fire broke out at a scrap-metal shop following the blast of an electric transformer at Golapbagh in Dhaka on Monday night.
The deceased could not be identified yet, reports the UNB.
Source at the Fire Service and Civil Defence central control room said the electric transformer went off around 7:30pm. The shop near Matri Sadan Hospital caught fire as the burning transformer fell on it.
On information, six firefighting units rushed in and took the blaze under control around 8:55pm.
They also retrieved the bodies of two people from the spot.
