95pc DMCH patients ‘seasonal butchers’!

Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) was flooded on Saturday with wounded ‘seasonal butchers’.
According to the information given by DMCH ticket counter, nurses and doctors, from 10:00am to 2:30pm on the Eid Day, total 160 patients visited the hospital. Among them, 153 were hurt processing sacrificial cattle.
Some of them broke bones, while others had injured their limbs or severed fingers.
A duty nurse said this has been a regular scenario during the Eid-ul-Azha every year. But, this year the number of such patients have increased. As some doctors are on vacation, the patients endured a little suffering.
When asked Casual Surgery Department’s Dr. Limon Chandra Dhar said, ‘We are helpless too. All Muslim doctors are on leave. Three doctors from Casual Surgery Department, two from Orthopedic Department and six nurses are providing treatment. All of them are Hindus. We required more doctors to serve the pouring patients but it’s impossible today.’
