Bogra: A member of the Armed Police Battalion was killed in a road accident at Kanosgari in Bogra town on early Friday.

The deceased is Nayek Sarful Alam, 30, son of Nabir Uddin, a resident of Shusristi village in Akkelpur upazila.

He was a member of the 4th Armed Police Battalion in Bogra, reports UNB.

Bogra sadar police officer-in-charge Abul Bashar said Sarful was returning to the police lines by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from Satmatha at about 3:00am.

When the auto-rickshaw reached Kanosgari, the three-wheeler crashed with the road divider as the driver lost his control over the steering, the OC added.

Sarful, who was sitting beside the driver, was knocked out from the auto-rickshaw and received injuries in the head.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
