Dhaka: Two motorcycle riders were killed as a City Corporation vehicle hit them at Shabujbagh area in Dhaka in the early hours of Thursday.

The Shabujbagh police sub-inspector (SI) Hasanuzzaman told NTV Online the accident took place near Shabujbagh Buddha temple at about 1:00am.

The SI said the deceased are in their early twenties.

The city corporation vehicle run over the speedy motorcycle and left two of the riders injured. Later, local people took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The SI said identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
