Bagerhat: Two people, including a teenage girl, were killed and 10 other people injured as a bus hit a truck on Khulna-Mawa highway in Foltita Bazar of Fakirhat upazila early Saturday.

The deceased are Nasrin Akhter, about 18 years old, daughter of Nasir Talukder, a resident of Doiboggahati village and Monir Sheikh, about 38 years old, son of Monir Sheikh, resident of Boloibunia village in Morelganj upazila.

M Azizul Haque, inspector of Katakhali highway police, said that the accident took place when a bus 'Banaful Paribahan' hit a jute-laden stationary truck, leaving 12 bus passengers injured.

The two injured died on their way to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
