Thakurgaon: Two people, including a minor boy, were killed and seven others injured in a road accident in Farabari area on Baliadangi-Nekmorod road in Baliadangi upazila on Friday night.

The deceased are Majnu, about 30 years old, son of Shahjahan Ali, of Chengthihazradanga village in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district, and Jinaid, about 3 years old, son of Foyzul Islam of Nekmorod Beelpara village of Ranisankail upazila.

Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Baliadangi Police Station, said the accident took place in the area around 7:30 pm when a Dhaka-bound Romar Enterprise bus from Ranisankail hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw coming from opposite direction, leaving the duo dead on the spot and seven others injured.

Later, the fire fighters from Baliadangi fire service and civil defense station rescued the injured and recovered the bodies.

The injured were admitted to Baliadangi Upazila Health Complex where doctors referred them to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for better treatment, the OC added.
