Shakiba suffering from rare disease since birth
Chapainawabganj: A medical board has been formed for the treatment of Shakiba, a two year old girl from Bibhishon village of Radhanagar union in Gomostapur upazila of the district, who is suffering from a rare disease since her birth.
Like many others, Shakiba, daughter of Abdus Sattar, a farmer of the village, is unable to work or carry anything with her right hand due to its abnormal swelling.
As Shakiba is growing up, her right arm is becoming heavier and swelling more day by day.
Her poor parents took her to Rajshahi and Dhaka for her treatment but no result came out. An abnormal lump has developed in her body from her right shoulder to her belly, said Shakiba’s mother Sabina Begum.
As Shakiba’s parents are unable to afford their daughter’s treatment, government has come forward to help them.
Earlier on September 20, Shakiba has been admitted to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital where her treatment will be done with government’s funding, said its Civil Surgeon Dr Kazi Shamim Hossain.
The poor kid’s father has urged everyone to pray for his child’s quick recovery while the doctors are trying their best to detect the disease.
