Rangpur: Three people, including a woman, were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van in Jaigirhat bus stand area of Mithapukur upazila early Monday.

The deceased are Abdul Kuddus, in his sixties, Maznu Miah, around thirties, and Monowara, around 40years.

Moazammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Mithapukur Police Station, said that the Rangpur-bound cattle-laden truck collided with the pickup van in the area around 4:30am, leaving Maznu and Monowara dead on the spot and four others injured.

Kuddus, one of the injured, died on the way to hospital, added the OC.
