Dhaka: At least 12 clothe stores were gutted by a fire that broke out at a garment scrap fabrics warehouse in Mirpur Block C in the early hours of Friday.

The Pallabi police said the fire originated from a cloth store in the area at about 12:00am and soon engulfed around 10 adjoining shops.

On information, 12 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at about 12:55am, according to officials at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident.

The origin of the fire as well as the losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
