Rajshahi: A truck driver was killed and three others were injured in a road accident at Jhalmolia on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Putia upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased is Akter Hossian, about 37 years old, hailing from Jhenidah area of Chandpur district.

Police said a Rajshahi-bound pickup van hit a stationed truck from behind in the area around 11:15 pm, leaving the truck driver dead on the spot and three others injured critically.

The two injured mechanics and pickup van helper were taken to Putia Health Complex and later two of them were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
