Three people were killed and nine others injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Joyrampur in Darshana upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased are identified as the drivers of the buses — Shanti Miah and Dulal Mandol — and a passenger, Aras Miah, reported the United News of Bangladesh.

Damurhuda Model Police Station inspector Liakat Hossain said the collision took place at about 8:00am when a Darshana-bound bus from Chuadanga collided head-on with another bus coming from the opposite direction, leaving two drivers dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

Of the injured, Aras Miah died on way to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

The rest injured people were being treated at the hospital.
