Dinajpur: Four people were killed in a road accident at Shalbagan in Birganj upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased are Habu Roy, Sushil Bala, Amulya Roy and Rangila Bala.

Officer-in-charge of Birganj police station Abu Akkas Ahmed said the accident took place when a pickup van, coming from opposite direction, hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw around 7am, leaving the four people dead on the spot.

They all were auto-rickshaw passengers and heading towards Kantaji Temple from Jaldhaka upazila of Nilpharmari, the police officer added.
