Six people were killed and 19 others injured in separate road accidents in four districts on Sunday.

In Pabna, two people were killed and five others injured in a road accident at Majidpur in Sadar upazila.

The deceased were identified as Rokon Ali, 45, driver of a human hauler and son of late Monsur Ali of Santhia upazila and Samrat, 30.

The accident took place when a cattle-laden human hauler (Nosimon) rammed motorcycle after being hit by a passenger bus from behind in the area around 11:30 am, leaving the driver of human hauler dead on the spot and six others injured, said Abdur Razzak, officer-in charge of Sadar Police Station

Later, the injured were taken to Pabna General Hospital where duty doctor declared Samrat dead.

Of the injured, motorcyclist Palash, 40, has been shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition was deteriorating.

In Savar, two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Pakija area on Dhaka-Aricha highway.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police and witnesses said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound sand-laden truck hit a rickshaw and overturned as its driver lost control over the steering while giving side to a human hauler around 12:00 am, leaving two rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and three others injured.

The injured were admitted to different local clinics.

Driver and helper of the truck, however, managed to flee the spot.

A case was filed.

In Dhaka, a young man was killed in a road accident in House Building area in the city’s Uttara.

Police said a speedy truck knocked down the young man, aged around 28, at 3:15 am, leaving him injured.

Later, he was sent to Tongi Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said sub-inspector Mofazzal Hossain of Uttara West Police Station.

Later, his body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the SI added.

In Rangpur, one person was killed and 11 others were injured in a road accident at Shah Amanat Filing Station point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway under Mithapukur upazila here.
‘The accident occurred when a bus hit a running bicycle and fell down into the roadside ditch after colliding with a truck there at 9:30 am,’ said Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Mithapukur Thana Azim Uddin.
The bicycle rider was killed on the spot and 11 passengers of the Lalmonirhat bound passenger bus from Bogra were injured in the accident.
The deceased bicyclist was identified as colour carpenter Manik Mian, 22, son of Abdus Samad of village Pairaband Kaliganj under Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur. 
Being informed, Mithapukur Thana police and fire service and civil defense personnel rushed to the spot, recovered the body, rescued the injured persons and sent them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. 
A case was filed in this connection with Mithapukur Thana.
