Dinajpur: A man was killed as a truck collided with a train at railgate area near coal mine in Dinahpur on Thursday morning.

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. However, local people said he was the assistant of the truck driver.

Local people said a truck collided with a Rangpur-bound running train came from Dinajpur at about 7:30am and left a man dead on the spot. Five people were also injured during the accident.

The Parbatipur police Officer-in-charge (OC) Habibul Haque said the injured were all passengers of the track. They were taken to local health complex.

Law enforcers are working to move the truck from over the railway track.
