Chittagong: A former student of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet) was killed in a road accident at New Monsurabad under Pahartoli thana in the city on Friday night.

Police said Farhan Momen, about 27 years old, student of Mechanical Engineering department of Cuet’s 42^nd batch and son of Mahbubur Rahman of Laxmipur was critically injured when a bus hit him while crossing the road in the area around 10:30pm.

He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared him dead, said Nayek Amir Hossain of the CMCH Police Outpost.
