Jessore: A police constable was killed in a road accident on Jessore-Jhenaidah road near Churamonkati Bazar in Jessore town on Tuesday.

The deceased is Feroj Gazi, 22, son of Abul Kalam of Chougachha village in Chaugachha upazila and a constable of district police, reports UNB.

Kotwali police officer-in-charge (investigation) Abdul Ghoni said Feroj was returning to his village home from Jessore town by a motorcycle on Tuesday noon.

The accident took place at about 1:00pm as a truck hit his motorcycle in Churamonkati bazaar area, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the family members for burial after a namaj-e-janaza in Jessore Police Line mosque in the afternoon.
