Noakhali: A college student was killed and two others were injured when a pickup van collided head-on with a human hauler in Maizdi Bazar area on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Anisa Anan, about 17 years old, daughter of Ali Ahmed from Chandpur district and an HSC first year student of Govt Women College, Noakhali.

M Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shudharam Police Station, said the accident took place at 7:00 am when a speeding pickup van hit the human hauler coming from opposite direction, leaving its passenger Anisa dead on the spot.

Another passenger Sumaiya and human hauler driver were also injured in the incident.

Later, they were rushed to hospital where Anisa was pronounced dead.
