Over 20 shops serving Rohingyas gutted by fire

Cox’s Bazar: At least 22 shops were gutted by a fire that broke out at the Leda Camp, a Rohingya slum bazar in Teknaf upazila, on Wednesday night.
Zahed Hossain Siddiq, upazila executive officer, said the fire broke out from an electric short circuit at a grocer shop of the bazar at about 8:15pm and it engulfed the adjoining establishments.
Later, local people and Rohingya people brought the fire under control. The extent of losses caused by the fire would exceed Tk 20 lakh, the executive official added.
