Two killed in road accidents

Two people were killed in separate accidents in Jessore and Satkhira.
In Jessore: A women was killed and her husband injured in a road accident at Sharsha Bazar in Sharsha upazila.
The deceased is Selina Akter, about 45 years old, wife of injured Anwarul Kabir. He is the Sharsha correspondent of vernacular daily Dainik Snagram.
Officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station M Moshiur Rahman said Anwar, along with his wife Selina, was returning home riding a motor cycle in the evening.
When they reached in front of Sharsha High School, a speedy truck hit the motor bike from backside, leaving Selina dead on the spot and Anwar injured.
Later, the injured journalist was taken to a local hospital, said the OC.
A pall of gloom descended on the area following the incident.
In Satkhira: A stone trader was killed and four pedestrians were injured in a road accident in front of Bhomra land port on Tuesday night.
The deceased is Uzzal Hossain, a resident of Paikgachha upazila of Khulna district.
Police said the accident took place when a stone-laden truck with Uzzal on board turned turtle in front of Bhomra land port around 7:30 pm, leaving the trader dead on the spot and four pedestrians injured.
The injured were taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
