Gazipur: Six people were burned to death and several others suffered injuries as fire broke out in a tyre factory at Pubail in Gazipur on Statuary.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Gazipur fire Service deputy assistant director Aktaruzzaman said five dead bodies have been recovered. Ten injured have been sent to hospital.

On information, two fire-fighting units from Joydebpur rushed in and were working to douse the blaze.

Nearly 40-50 people were working in the factory, locals said.
