Rangpur: A minor girl was killed in a road accident in Boirampur Zambur Mour point on the Boirampur- Gutirdanga road under Badarganj upazila in rngpur on Saturday, police sources said.

The deceased is Asrifa Begum, 10, daughter of Wasim Ali of village Gutirdanga Bhatia Para under Kalupara union in the same upazila.

The accident occurred when the scarf of Asrifa was caught by a wheel of the running battery-driven auto rickshaw that was carrying her to her home village Gutirdanga Bhatia Para from Boirampur area.

Asrifa soon fell down on the road from the auto rickshaw and died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Badarganj Thana Nurul Islam has confirmed the accident and death.
