Dhaka: Twelve shanties were gutted by a fire that broke out at Tejgaon Railway Colony in the city on Sunday evening.

Sources at the Fire Service Central Control Room said the fire originated from a kitchen burner at a shanty of the colony in Tejgaon area at about 5:07pm.

On information, six fire-fighting units rushed in and they doused the blaze at about 7:30pm.

However, none was injured in the incident.
