Chittagong: A woman and her two children sustained severe burn injuries on Thursday as a fire broke out in their house following gas cylinder explosion in Garibullah Shah residential area under Khulshi thana in the district.

The victims are Tanjira Aktar, about 35 years old, her daughter Tanzina Aktar, about 13 years old, and son Tahjib Hasan, about 8 years old.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where condition of Tanjira was stated to be critical.

In-charge of CMCH police out-post Jahirul Islam said the gas cylinder blasted with a big bang while the woman was cooking in the afternoon.
