Derailment halts Sylhet rail communication

Habiganj: The rail communication of Sylhet with other parts of the country suspended following derailment of compartment of an oil-laden train at Shayestaganj in Habiganj.
The Shayestaganj Railway Station master Saiful Islam told NTV Online the derailment took place at Daudnagar rail gate on Friday morning.
The station master said the oil-laden train was moving towards Sylhet from Dhaka. As it neared Shayestaganj railway station at about 10:30am, one of its compartments derailed, which halted Sylhet’s rail communication with Dhaka and Chittagong.
Local transport plying is also snapped as the train stuck at Shayestaganj railway gate.
A salvage train went from Akhaura went to the spot to recover the oil-laden train, said the station master.
