Karwan Bazar railway slum fire doused

After more than an hour of efforts, fire fighters doused the fire that broke out at the railway slum near Karwan Bazar in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters official at about 12:15pm said being informed three units of fire fighters rushed to the spot. The fire fighter took time to reach the spot, as the area is congested.
However, rail communication was distracted due to the incident near the railway track.
Local people said the fire originated from a house at the slum. Later, the flames engulfed other houses.
The fire was brought under control at about 12:45pm as five units of fire fighters joined the rescue operation. A total of twenty five shanties damaged during the fire.
