Five killed in Chandpur and Rajshahi accidents

Five people were killed in separate road accidents in Chandpur and Rajshahi on Tuesday.
In Chandpur: Three passengers of CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and the driver was injured as truck hit the vehicle at Panchani village of Matlab Uttar upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased are Mofiz Pathan, about 45 years old, Alamgir Hossain, about 40 years old, residents of Panchani village and Anik Ahmmed, about 25 years old, a resident of Baherchar village of the upazila.
The accident took place when the truck hit the auto-rickshaw due to dense fog, leaving the four people critically injured, said Anwarul Haque, officer-in-charge of Uttar Matlab Police Station.
Later, the injured were taken to local hospital where doctors declared three of them dead and referred the critically injured driver to Dhaka.
In Rajshahi: Two motorcyclists were killed and another one was injured as a human hauler hit a motorcycle ridden by them in Denkipara of Bagmara upazila on Monday night.
The deceased are Rajib Rahman, son of Majibur Rahman and Belal Hossain, son of Abdul Hamid, residents of Palsha village of the upazila.
Victim’s family members said that the accident took place around 8:30 pm when the human hauler (locally named as Mahindra) hit the motorcycle, leaving Rajib dead on the spot and two others injured.
Later, the injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where Belal succumbed to his injuries around 11:30pm.
