Local people put up barricade on Dhaka-Mawa highway following the death of a woman in a road accident in Kumarbhog area of Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj on Friday.
Witnesses said Ria Begum, 30, wife of Abdur Razzak, was killed when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Tungipara Paribahan’ hit a rickshaw carrying Rima near Padma Bridge Rehabilitation Centre at about11:00am, reported UNB.
Angered by the incident, local people put up barricade by torching tier on Dhaka-Mawa highway at Louhajang point, disrupting traffic movement on the busy road, said Samsuzzaman, assistant superintendent of Munshiganj Police.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Louhajang Police Station Mollah Jakir went to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control.
