An elderly woman was killed after she was hit by a brick during a clash between her two sons over family matter in Rahanpur municipality area of Gomastapur upazila of C’nawabganj on Friday.

The deceased is Najibur Begum, wife of Shamsuddin, a resident of the area, reported UNB.

Rahanpur police camp in-charge Anwar Hossain said an altercation ensued between Siddik and Mahbub, sons of the deceased, over a family matter in the afternoon.

At one stage, they threw bricks at each other, leaving their mother Najinur critically injured.

The injured was rushed to Gomastapur upazila health complex where doctors declared her dead.

Gomastapur Police Station officer-in-charge Khandaker Golam Mortuza said police recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

A case was filed.
