Dhaka: A van driver was died as speeding bus hit him over the Matikata Flyover in Dhaka Cantonment area on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased is Saidul Islam, in his thirties, a resident of Haluaghat upazila in Mymensign. Saidul used to live at Natunbazar in Bhatara along with his wife and children.

The deceased’s brother, Abu Saeed said the car hit Saidul when he was driving van over the flyover and left him critically injured. Later, he was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital.

He was then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. The doctors declared him dead at about 10:30pm.

Confirming the death, DMCH police post official Sub-inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia said the body was taken to the morgue for autopsy.
