Fire at cotton warehouse under control
Gazipur: A fire that broke out at a cotton warehouse at Bagher Bazar in Dhaka on Thursday morning has been brought under control.
Seven units of fire fighters doused the flame after six hours at Mosharraf Composite factory’s cotton warehouse at Bagherbazar area of Gazipur.
Aktaruzzaman Liton, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, said the fire broke out at the warehouse around 3:00am and spread soon.
On information, seven firefighting units from Tongi, Joydebpur, Sreepur and Bhaluka rushed to the spot and were working to put out the fire, he said.
Machineries and a number of cotton belts were gutted by the fire.
However, the origin of the fire could not be known immediately.
