Dhaka: A man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Science Laboratory area in the capital early Sunday.

The deceased is Mohammad Alamgir, in his forties, from Nalchity upazila in Jhalokati district.

The accident took place when a speedy private car hit a rickshaw in the area around 12:30am, leaving its passenger and puller injured critically, said sub-inspector Jasim Uddin of Dhanmondi Model Police Station.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Alamgir dead.

Rickshaw puller Ruhul Amin is now undergoing treatment at the hospital, the police official added.
