Dhaka: A total of 26 people including pilot and three crewmembers among 36 Bangladeshis were killed in the plane crash of the US Bangla flight in Kathmandu.

Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager (GM), Marketing Support and PR of US-Bangla Airlines in a press briefing at their Baridhara office came up with the remarks, reports the UNB.

The rest 10 Bangladeshi were under treatment in Nepal, he said.

US-Bangla Airlines will provide all kinds of assistance in repatriation of deceased and injured Bangladeshis. The bodies will be brought back after completing phrenic report and other formalities, he said.

‘Seven officials of our airline already went to Nepal and we are trying to hand over the bodies as soon as possible’, he added.

Over the controversy of the pilot’s fault in the crash, he claimed that the pilot had no fault regarding the crash, rather he might have misguided by the Air Control Room (ACT) at the last minute, he suggested.

‘We can’t be sure about the cause now, the audio of the ATC conversation and black box contains the evidences which could confirm the main cause after proper inspection’, he added.

‘But six officials who were on-duty at ATC during the accident on Monday were recently transferred elsewhere, according to some Nepalese media report which is confusing’, he said.

The US-Bangla Airlines flight BS211, which flew from Dhaka to Kathmandu carrying 67 passengers and four crew members, crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan country of Nepal on Monday, leaving 51 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, dead.
