Cox’s Bazar: Two people were killed and another person was injured as a Pajero jeep crashed into a motorcycle on the Marine Drive in Ukhia upazila on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased are Jubairul Islam Chowdhury, 26, son of Rafique Ahmed of Uttar Mithachhari of Ramu upazila, and Shaker Ullah, 28, of Borodeil in Maheshkhali upazila.

Police said the jeep of an NGO working at Rohingya camps hit the motorcycle at Patuartek in the afternoon, leaving Jubairul dead on the spot and two other riders injured.

Locals took the injured to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Shaker dead.

Md Anisur Rahman, in-charge of Inani police camp, said they recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.
