Gopalganj: A bus helper lost his right arm when a truck hit his vehicle on Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Bedgram village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as Khalid Hasan Hridoy,30, helper of Tungipara Express, and son of Rabiul Islam of Karagati village in the upazila.

Rahima Moni, a co-passenger of the bus, said Hridoy was sitting on the rear seat dangling his right hand outside the bus. The truck coming from the opposite direction hit his hand around 10.30 am, severing it from his shoulder.

Hridoy was taken to General Hospital and then moved to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
