Comilla: Three people including two women were killed in separate incidents of lightning strike in Debidwar and Daudkandi upazilas of Comilla on Tuesday.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station, said Rufia Begum, in her sixties, wife of Siddique Mia of Gouripur union in Daudkandi upazila was killed after being hit by a thunderbolt while working at her filed in the evening.

Besides, Azmeri Begum, in her forties, wife of Shamsul Haq Bhuiya of Goalmari union, was killed by lightning strike while serving water to her cattle.

In Debidwar upazila, Majibur Rahman Maju, in his fifties, of Madhumura area was killed after being hit a thunderbolt while working at his field, said Hakim Khan, chairman of Dakkhin Gunaighar union.
