Gopalganj: A construction worker was killed when a portion of a wall collapsed on him at Uttar Jalirpar in Maksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Tuesday.

The deceased is Utpal Mandal, in his thirties, of the village.

Inspector Mahidul Islam, in-charge of Sindiaghat police camp, said a portion of a wall of the house of Krishna Bala fell on Utpal while he was engaged in constructing a bathroom there around 5:00pm, leaving him injured.

Later, he was taken to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead.
