Sunamganj: A woman farmer was killed after being hit by a thunderbolt at a haor in Purangaon village of Bishwambharpur upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased is identified as Shahara Banu of the village in Dakhshin Badaghat union, reports the UNB.

Family sources said the thunderbolt hit Shahara while she went to the haor for bringing cattle, leaving her dead on the spot.

Meanwhile, three people were injured in another incident of lightning at Hatamar village in Fenarbak union of Jamalganj upazila in the morning.
