Sherpur: Two people were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Kandapara in Sherpur on Thursday.

The deceased are Khoka Mia, in his twenties, of Kandapara village and Babar Ali, in his thirties, of Tatalpur village in Sadar upazila.

Quoting witnesses, police said the accident took place around 7:30am when a Sherpur-bound chicken-laden pick-up van from Jhenigati first hit Babar Ali and then a human hauler, leaving Babar dead on the spot and five passengers of the human hauler injured.

The injured were taken to Sherpur District Hospital where the doctors declared Khoka Mia dead, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
