Tangail: A woman and her son were crushed under a train in Gorasin area of Sadar upazila on Thursday.

The deceased are Brishti Akhter, 23, wife of Saudi Arabia expatriate Shahin Mian and her three-year old son Rahat, residents of Namdarkumilli village of the upazila.

Local UP member Abdul Zabbar said Brishti along with her son went out of her father’s house around 8:30am.

They were crushed under Dhaka-bound Silk-city express train around 12pm, said Jalal Uddin, Tangail Railway Station Master.

Brishti’s neighbours said that she was mentally challenged while some others said that she jumped under the train along with son following a feud with her in-laws.
