Barisal: Three children went missing after a trawler capsized in Karkhana River in Bakarganj upazila on Sunday.

The identities of the missing could not be known immediately.

Bakarganj Police Station Officer-in-charge Md Masuduzzaman said the trawler was anchored near the DC road to carry passengers to Kobai union.

Suddenly a chunk of soil from the river bank fell on it around 12 pm causing the boat capsized, the OC said adding that all the missing were children.

Witness said at least 35 passengers were on the trawler.

Meanwhile, the rescue operation was initiated just soon after the incident, the OC added.
