Craze for selfie claims lives of man, 2 daughters in Narsingdi

Narsingdi: A man and his two daughters were crushed to death by a train while taking a selfie on the rail tracks near the Puranpara railway bridge in Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased are Hafiz Miah, 40, son of Jahirul Islam of Duttapara village of Sadar upazila in Laxmipur district, and his two daughters—Tarin, 13, a Class-VIII student, and Tuli, 2.
Hafiz, a businessman, used to live in a house at Bilasdi of the district town with his family.
Officer-in-charge of Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station M Syeduzzaman said the Noakhali-bound Upakul Express hit the trio around 6:45pm while they were taking a selfie standing on the rail tracks, killing them on the spot.
